Conference Presenting – walk out again

Other reasons people may be walking out of your session: they got a phone call or text message that they need to take, they are feeling sick or need to use the restroom, you remind them of their ex lover and just can’t look at you. It’s not your fault!  Focus on the people who are firmly in their seats and want to hear what you have to say.

  1. True, Jacki, but they may not be ‘Getting It!’, meaning you may not be presenting in a manner that they are understanding.

People learn in different ways, and unless you’re presenting to several of those learning styles – shame on you.

Props and slides (without text, please) appeal to visual learners.

Your speaking helps auditory learners ‘Get It!’.

Always check the temperature of your audience to see if they are ‘Getting It!’ and make adjustments as needed.

    Thanks!
